Stoneware: A dense, impermeable and hard clay which differs from porcelain because it is more opaque, and normally only partially vitrified. It is usually colored grey or brownish because of impurities in the clay, and is normally glazed.

These pieces are created using a stoneware clay from STARworks Ceramics (www.starworksnc.org) and fired to Cone 10 (2345F)
